An exciting year for the SAM

The Swiss Automobile and Motorcycle Association SAM is primarily known as an organiser of racing series ranging from motocross and trials to the Mofacup. However, the versatile association actively participates in various events and organises its own motorbike tours in Switzerland and abroad. SAM and Midland are linked by a long-standing partnership that has its origins in motocross.

The SAM has had great success in motorsport during this year. Thousands of people cheered on the athletes from the sidelines at over fifty racing events. The fact that the number of licensed drivers has increased significantly is very pleasing. Motorsport is alive and well. In the future, many a great career - for example - is likely to begin with a mini-bike race among six-year-olds.

However, the SAM also made numerous appearances outside of races and competitions. The focus was on the Motofestival in Bern, which took place for the first time in February 2023 and was very successful. The association was also involved in other events such as the Glaubenberg blood donation day, the Loveride and the Valley Summer Festival.

But the Tourism sector also ran smoothly. There were refresher courses in first aid, a motorbike tour for beginners, which was very popular, as well as a circuit safety training course. Not forgetting the popular motorbike tours, from the Hardcore Passes Tour to the week-long Dolomites Tour and the twelve-day Corsica-Sardinia Tour.

No wonder the SAM was able to increase the number of members by around ten per cent in this successful year. More information about the SAM's activities and membership benefits can be found on the website.
