At the hill climb on the Gurnigel, the second last round of the Swiss championship, it was clear to Marcel Steiner: to win the title, he had to be faster than Eric Berguerand. He achieved this already in the first run with a new course record. When Eric Berguerand finally had to retire due to technical problems and could not compete in the third run, Marcel Steiner was the champion. It is the sixth title for him after 2010, 2011, 2012 as well as 2017 and 2018 - and the first after a a long time.

Marcel Steiner and Eric Berguerand did not even compete in the last race Châtel St. Denis - Les PaccotsRobin Faustini seized the opportunity and took the day's win ahead of Joël Volluz, although it didn't look like it at first. With this margin of points, Faustini was definitely in third place in this year's standings. Robin Faustini proved a few weeks later in Skradin, Croatia, that he can win not only without but also with big opponents, where he left this year's European hill climb champion Christian Merli behind him as the winner of the race.
