Youngtimer Stockental in glorious weather

Youngtimer Stockental is Switzerland’s largest youngtimer meet and takes place every year on Whit Monday on the grounds of the TCS Driver Safety Centre in the Bernese Oberland. With over 700 vehicles built between 1970 and 2000 and 2,500 visitors, the event was once again a huge success this year. The summery weather, which had been forecast days in advance, certainly helped, prompting many fans to drive their modern classics to Stockental.

The Youngtimer Stockental has made a name for itself with roses for the female passengers and free candyfloss for young and old alike. It is said that this event also serves the best soft ice cream in the Fribourg Oberland. The various stand operators also attracted great interest from visitors. And the rock band ‘4-Takt’ provided excellent entertainment throughout the day.

The ideal infrastructure of the TCS Centre and the team’s excellent organisation are further factors in the success of the meet, which has imposed a limit of 750 vehicles on itself. Moreover, youngtimers are all in vogue. More and more people are looking after the ‘heroes of their youth’ – classics suitable for everyday use that aren’t just driven on Sundays – but certainly on Whit Monday!
