From Weggis, we first walked to the valley station of the Rigi-Kaltbad aerial cableway and then took the cog railway to Rigi Kulm. From there we hiked until we reached the Chäserenholz alp at midday. Not only did a delicious lunch await us there, but also an ‘Alpine Olympics’. We had to compete in groups in various exotic disciplines such as boot throwing, hay bale races and milk churn races. The winners were richly rewarded with cheese and other products straight from the alp.

This was followed by the descent and the return journey on the mountain railways to Weggis. After a break for refreshments at the hotel, we were invited to dine by the lake. After the formidable meal, CEO Thomas Brack took the floor. He explained how the Midland brand was created in 2004 during a turbulent phase and ventured a look into the future. We brought the day to a slow close with dessert and coffee.
