Manuel Alder has been crazy about racing since he was a child. He first demonstrated his talent for motorcycling at the age of 14 as a passenger in a sidecar. In 2017, he started racing motorcycles on the track. First with an old Honda SC57 and later with a Kawasaki ZX 10 RR. He took part in amateur races and competed in two smaller amateur championships. He gained experience, including in endurance racing with podium finishes in 2- and 4-hour races and entries in the DLC (German Endurance Championship), improved his lap times and achieved a consistent level of pace. But that sparked his desire to try his hand at the ‘big leagues’. In 2023, he competed in the GMM German Motomaster. In 2024, he received two guest starts in the Coppa Italia (Pirelli Cup) and finished in the top ten twice.

With a spot as a regular driver in the Blackracing Team (last year's winning team), Manuel Alder's dream comes true in 2025. He has the right people and the necessary equipment to compete at the front. For him, who often travels to races alone or with his wife and child, the support of a professional team is a great boost.

The level in the Pirelli Cup is high, and all the riders in this series are very fast. The lap times of all 44 starters are within a few seconds of each other. And the rules here are the same as in Moto GP or the Superbike World Championship. The tyres are specified. And you are quickly sanctioned with time penalties or fines if a detail is not correct.

“My vision has always been to compete as a Swiss rider with Swiss lubricants. I greatly appreciate the oil, the products and the partnership with Midland. Personally, I use the fully synthetic Midland Motorcycle 10W-50, the K7 Chain Spray and the brake fluid DOT 5.1. like the fact that the products are compatible with many other motorcycles”, says Manuel Alder with enthusiasm, adding: “I also recommend the products to everyone out there.”

Manuel has experienced ups and downs so far this season. Technical misfortune, good times and placings, but also accidents such as a highsider at the end of July, from which Manuel is recovering in Switzerland. Fortunately, the suspicion of a hairline fracture in his hip was not ruled out, but riding is out of the question at the moment as his muscles have been affected. Nevertheless, he wants to return as soon as possible and compete in his next race in mid-September.

Manuel believes that racing drivers are held in greater esteem in Italy, where motor racing is a way of life. His goals are clear: he wants to finish on the podium in the subcategory (Bronze) and be among the top 20 out of 44 drivers in the overall standings. As always with Manuel Alder, this is a very ambitious target for his first real season in the Pirelli Cup. To achieve this, he trains a lot, even off the motorcycle race track, taking part in running events, obstacle runs and mountain runs. In winter, he is out and about on his splitboard, searching for the perfect line in the powder snow.
