What do additives in lubricants do?

There are a large number of different additives which are used in lubricants. In general, they are intended to fulfill the following tasks:

Protect surfaces from wear and corrosion
Protect against oil aging
Improve oil properties

What do oil additives do?

There are various oil additives that can be added to a lubricant and mainly serve the following purposes:

Cleaning of the oil system
Fixing leaks in the oil system
Improving the properties of the oil (wear protection, aging resistance, pressure stability, viscosity property)

What does fuel additive do?

The regular use of fuel additives can ensure that there are no heavy impurities that interfere with the combustion process. Optimum combustion can save fuel at the same time.
