The family business specializes in the production of high-quality lubricants, which are sold both in Switzerland and internationally under the brand Midland – Swiss Quality Oil. Additionally, the company deals in heating oil and fuels in German-speaking Switzerland, where there are also various Midland gas stations.
The Midland brand was launched by Oel-Brack AG in 2004. For decades, the family business was known for producing and importing products from American oil companies under license. It was therefore only logical that the company's own brand should have an American-sounding name while also reflecting its origins – the Swiss Mittelland region.
The upside-down triangle symbolizes the Mittelland between the Alps and the Jura mountains. The tagline "Swiss Quality Oil" makes it clear that the products are manufactured in Switzerland to consistent quality standards. The enameled sign with the implied rivets represents the long-standing tradition of the company and the process of lubrication itself.
