New Maxtra 5W-30 with Volvo VDS-5
Midland Maxtra 5W-30 was developed for the latest generation of engines from Volvo, Daimler, Detroit, Mack, Renault RVI and Cummins, for which an engine oil with reduced high-temperature viscosity according to ACEA F01 and API FA-4 is recommended. With a reduced HTHS viscosity of 3.0 mPa∙s at 150°C, this oil is proven to lower fuel consumption and reduce emissions. Maxtra 5W-30 is also recognised for its excellent cold-starting characteristics and good high-temperature properties.
Midland Maxtra 5W-30 primarily focuses on the new Volvo VDS-5 specification, which was introduced by Volvo Trucks in 2021. It was created specifically for the latest, fuel-efficient 11 and 13-litre diesel engines, which have been in production since 2021. The objective of this specification was and is to lower fuel consumption, prolong maintenance intervals and reduce the total cost of ownership.
Please note: VDS-5 oils such as Midland Maxtra 5W-30 are not suitable for older engines due to their lower viscosity: They are not retro-compatible and must not be used in engines for which older specifications such as Volvo VDS-4.5, Renault RLD-3, Mack EOS-4.5 or lower are requested.
