Every engine is different, which is why there are different types of engine oils. To ensure that the engine is always optimally lubricated, the oil changes should also be carried out according to the manufacturer's specifications. With the right oil and the right change intervals, the lifespan of an engine can thus be extended. In order to use the right engine oil, it’s necessary to clarify which specification the vehicle or engine requires. This can usually be found in the vehicle manual.

Generally, different engine oils that meet the prescribed specifications of the vehicle manufacturer can be mixed together. Thus, oils of different brands and different viscosities (e.g. 5W-30 and 10W-30) can be mixed without problems as long as both meet the prescribed specification. It does not matter whether it is a mineral, synthetic or fully synthetic engine oil.
